Howe Character Trait of the Month:
Growth Mindset
Is believing that ability and intelligence can be achieved through effort.
Montessori Moment
Term to ponder – Grace and Courtesy
Grace can be described as how a person relates kindly to themselves and courtesy is how we communicate respect to others. Parents and teachers model this first and many lessons can be taught on the topic. For example, how to greet someone, how to set the table, putting up a coat or serving others food. As a child gets older this will develop into skills like maintaining friendships and practicing self-control. Grace and courtesy are a distinguishing feature of the Montessori method.
